Posted on my instagram @trotty, the caption consisted of a research question for my sociology class: You've heard of drag queen...How many of you have heard of drag kings? About 50% of the replies have never heard of a drag king before, the other half were either familiar with the term or were queer performers themselves. The results of this photoshoot and poll led to more gender-presentation based research, informing my future work in drag and creating a solid foundation for gender studies under a socio-cultural and personal lense.
